Hetian jade will become the next jade?

As Jadeite prices soared, the price of Hetian jade art also rose again. Hetian jade, represented by Qingbaiyu, may be becoming the next jadeite.

At an auction, two pieces of Hetian green white jade about 22 centimeters in height caused a fierce bidding price for the buyers on the spot. The base price of the million yuan began to shoot, and at the end, they all traded for 240,000 yuan, which attracted the attention of the collectors. According to industry insiders, for example, in the case of Shanzi, a piece of Hetian Qingbaiyu, a pine and cypress figure, it was able to buy it for 5,000 yuan in the early 1990s. Now the price of a material of only a considerable size is more than 100,000 yuan, plus the cost of engraver, etc. There is still room for value-added after the buyer has taken 240,000 yuan.

Hetian jade and jade's "life experience" have many similarities. Hetian jade is mainly produced in Xinjiang Hetian. Due to the long-term exploitation, the output is getting less and less. Due to its non-renewable scarcity, the prices are skyrocketing and it is difficult to buy quality products in the market.

According to experts’ analysis of the market, the price of Hetianyu’s seed material has continued to increase significantly, rising by 5% to 10%. Since Hetian jade was banned from exploitation, the annual output of seed material is only 20 to 50 tons, and resources are increasingly scarce. Unbalanced, resulting in a stone hard to find, heavy weight with the skin of white jade seed material is more rare.

Hetian Yu’s large-scale appreciation began in 2001. Before this year, the Hetian jade seed material appreciated between 20% and 30% each year. After this year, the average annual appreciation value was 50% to 70%.

The first climax appeared before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The news that he was selected as the raw material for the gold-encrusted jade medal made Hetian Yu “fire up” in the domestic jewelry market. In 2000, the price per kilogram of Grade 1 Hetian Yushan was only 2,000 yuan. It was only 10,000 yuan in 2005, and in 2007 it broke through 30,000 yuan. The first grade of Hetian jade material was even more crazy. However, from 10,000 to 12,000 yuan, by 2007, it was even more than 1 million yuan per kilogram. It has soared 100 times before and after.

In spite of this, the price of Hetian jade is still very low compared with jade. Judging from the current market conditions, the top glass species of jade can be as high as 100 million to 300 million yuan, while the gem-quality Hetian jade is sold at most a few million yuan. Therefore, Hetian jade is considered to have great room for price improvement in the future.

However, Hetian jade also faces many problems. Problems such as the continued confiscation of stolen goods and the continuous decline in the trading volume of raw materials have always plagued the industry. Some experts even assert that many issues such as overcapacity, single sales channels, and lack of brand development capabilities have actually caused the Qingbaiyu industry to face crises. Whether Hetian jade can become the next jadeite still needs the test of time.
